2025 Marks 150 Years of the Town of Wappinger

2025 is a very significant year for the Town of Wappinger and its residents. A celebration marking 150 years of Wappinger has been going since the clock struck midnight signaling 2025, and the celebrations are truly just getting started.

The biggest event of the year, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the town, will take place on May 17th at Schlathaus Park with Wappinger150 Community Day. The day will include a parade, music, vendors, and community oriented fun, with additional details about the ongoing event planning available here.

I happen to live just down the street from one of Wappinger's many parks, and the shiny new signage that was recently added caught my eye immediately.

The Town has shared that the new signage is part of the effort to show pride and love for Wappinger parks.

We hope these signs will bring more awareness and enthusiasm to our beloved parks this Spring!

In total, Wappinger is home to 12 total parks and recreation facilities including Airport Park, Carnwath Farms, Castle Point, Fleetwood, Martz Field, Quiet Acres, Reese Park, Robinson Lane Park, Rockingham Park, Schlathaus Park, Spookhill Park, and the Town Hall facility.
