150 Years of Wappinger

2025 marks 150 years of Wappinger, so they've been hosting all sorts of great community events to celebrate along with local community organizations.

Along with fun events, there's also a Wappinger150 time capsule in the works, and even a commemorative Wappinger150 brick for sale.

For Valentine's Day, though, the Town has something quite special planned to honor both the 150th, and the day dedicated to love. Town Supervisor, Joseph D. Cavaccini shared the following:

A goal of our Wappinger150 festivities is to bring together and celebrate the people of the Town of Wappinger as well as what makes us special. We are excited to recognize the strong marital relationships of our neighbors in offering this vow renewal ceremony. Love is certainly in the air here at Town Hall.

Love Is In The Air in the Town of Wappinger

From 10am until 11:30am on Friday, February 14th, the Town of Wappinger Town Hall will be transformed into a resident-wide vow renewal and wedding celebration site. Along with members of the Wappinger Town Board, Supervisor Cavaccini will offer a vow renewal ceremony, and even offer those looking to tie the knot for the first time, the opportunity to do so on this very special occasion.

Following the ceremonies, a reception complete with photos, light appetizers and of course a champagne toast will be offered.
