Winter who? The National Weather Service (NWS) has released its temperature predictions for the next two weeks, and if they remain accurate, the heavy coats might be kept in the closet until December.

The weather hasn't exactly been kind to the Hudson Valley in recent weeks. While many residents celebrated the random heat wave last week, other events like the persistent weekend rains have all but ruined this year's apple picking season. Above Normal Temperatures Coming to the Hudson Valley, NY in November

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is predicting that New Yorkers, including residents in the Hudson Valley, can expect to experience above normal temperatures for the next 14 days. Currently, the forecast gives an 80% chance for accuracy, but what does "above normal" mean?

Average November Temperatures in the Hudson Valley

Historically, temperatures in the Hudson Valley have ranged from roughly 34 degrees as an average low and near 55 degrees as an average high, making the total average temperature for the month of November near 45 degrees. If NOAA's prediction remains true, then Hudson Valley residents can expect temperatures above that mark for the next two weeks.

The Lowest Temperature Recorded in Poughkeepsie, NY

While temperatures in the 50s isn't necessarily balmy, it's a far cry from some of the record freezing temperatures the Hudson Valley has experienced in the past. It was reported that Poughkeepsie, NY, for example, experienced a record low of three degrees in November 1989. It was much more recent when we experienced a record high.

The Highest Temperature Recorded in Poughkeepsie, NY
