Ah, fall in the Hudson Valley:  leaves changing - check, fall weather - (eh, occasionally) check, assorted bugs and creatures invading our homes and property - GROSS.

I don't really do so well with insects of any sort, but the ones i've been seeing lately in my house, and around the neighborhood have caused for some pretty loud blood curdling screams, sorry Wappingers...

We've all been complaining about the insane amount of sink bugs that are infesting our houses.  I don't know where they are coming from, or how they seem to multiply in seconds, but you know when you see one, there has to be more nearby, right?

Then, there's the ridiculous number of giant spiders that are crawling around this time of year.  My cat was batting something around the hallway the other day and I thought it was one of those spider ring decorations until I got closer and realized it was a REAL spider the size of a quarter - nasty.

We were lucky to have mud wasps take up residence in the basement a few weeks ago, that was fun an exciting...said nobody who lives in my house.

Then there's this little guy who appeared in my sister and brother-in-law's driveway.  Cute at first but upon further inspection, EW, why was it in the driveway, and why did he pick it up?

According to an informal social media poll and some good ol'fashioned googling, this guy is a red spotted newt, and isn't particularly dangerous to humans.  That's cool, but I don't want this guy or any of his pals hanging out around my house.

Have you found any interesting creatures lately?  We'd love to see your photos!
