We had a tiny taste of fall last week with some crisp mornings and maybe even the need to put the warmer blanket on the bed if keeping the windows open at night. Sadly, we went right back into late summer with the humidity and warmer temps.

Though, as of September 22nd one of the best times of year to be in and around the Hudson Valley will have officially arrived, and there are more than enough signs to prove it.

Sure Signs Of Fall, Number Five: Leaf Peepers

Many of us locals take for granted just how pretty the views are around here, and maybe it isn't until all of the out-of-towners begin arriving to take in the scenery do we realize that we are nestled in one of the most stunning fall backdrops ever.

Did you know that Metro North typically runs special 'leaf peeping' trains into the area around this time of year?

Sure Signs Of Fall, Number Four: Community Days and Craft Fairs

While there's no shortage of farmer's markets across the area (some year round, too), it is around this time of year that craft fairs and community gatherings start to pop up each weekend. Fall festivals complete with pumpkin decorating, music, and local vendors stocked with fall-themed goodies are about to fill our weekend calendars.

Sure Signs Of Fall, Number Three: Halloween Activities

From The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze to Kevin McCurdy's Haunted Mansion, Peace, Love & Pumpkins to Headless Horseman, visits to Sleepy Hollow and EVERYTHING in between, all of the spooky October celebrations are starting to gear up for their time to shine, er, scare, or both!

Sure Signs Of Fall, Number Two: You Pick EVERYTHING Fall

Pumpkins and apples mainly, but at this time of year we have to acknowledge just how many cool places there are to 'pick your own.' Whether it's an adorable roadside farm stand or a full-blown farm experience complete with a hayride and Instagram worthy pumpkin patch, the options are endless this time of year.
