Here in New York we're celebrating some of the stars of Team USA who are from our neck of the woods.

Aerin Frankel Represents Westchester County at Winter Olympics

Aerin Frankel is Team USA's 26-year-old goalie who hails from Westchester County.

According to the official roster, Frankel is from Chappaqua New York and grew up playing hockey for the Westchester Vipers.

Frankel went on to play hockey at Northeastern University and now plays professionally for the Boston Fleet.

The native New Yorker is new to Olympic competition. The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan is her first ever Olympic games. Which makes what she did even more impressive.

Westchester County Native Breaks Olympic Record

The Olympic kicked off on February 6th, 2026, and Team USA got right to work. The won their first game against Czechia 5-1. From there their beat Switzerland, Canada, Italy and Sweden all in shutouts.

Meaning no goals scored by the other team. 5 seemed to be the lucky number for Team USA as they scored 5 goals in all of their games except their game against Italy...they scored 6.

With that being said, Aerin Frankel's team the Boston Fleet shared this amazing fact on February 16th, Aerin "became the first female to record three shutouts in a single Olympic appearance."

In the gold medal game, Frankel recorded 99 saves.Like we said, pretty impressive for her first time.

Congratulations again to the Team USA Women's Hockey Team on bringing home the gold!
