After missing most of last season after a fireworks accident, it looks like Jason Pierre-Paul will be missing the end of this season as well. It was confirmed this afternoon that JPP was undergoing surgery for a sports hernia, and was going to be out for a month and a half.

So not only did the Giants get embarrassed by the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Sunday, but they lost their soon to be free agent defensive end who was having a comeback season.

JPP has 53 tackles, 7 sacks and 8 batted passes, which is second in the entire league.

Considering how the defense has been carrying the entire team so far, this is a huge hit to the Giants. If the Giants manage to get into the play-offs, JPP could conceivably make it back for those games.
