The Hudson Valley is home to so many restaurants, shops, and convenience stores. I think we could handle a few more.

I have lived in the Hudson Valley region of New York for a few years now and if there's one thing that I have grown fond of it is the local scene. Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Newburgh, and even Middletown are large cities but they still have a small-town feel to them. The local restaurants in the region are amazing and I crave them quite often. I have a handful of places that I frequent often. There's no better feeling than finding a new gem near you, trying out their business for the first time, and loving it.

That being said, there are a few times that I crave chains. Who doesn't love a familiar menu once in a while? Some people in the community may call that blasphemous but they still have franchise owners and employees who live locally.

I commute on Rte 9 in Poughkeepsie every single day and there are so many places to eat or shop. There are several places that we could use on Rte 9.

Rte 9 in Poughkeepsie would be prime real estate for any of these well-known businesses. Take a look at the list below. Which ones would you like to see on that stretch of road? Can you pick one, two or even three of them? Do you think we could handle almost all of them?
