18-Year-Old Arrested for Sending Sexual Photos & Texts to Ulster County Girl

An 18-year-old was arrested for sending sexual photos and texts to a 13-year-old girl from Ulster County. Police say the male invited to girl to have sexual contact.

According to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday information was developed that a 13-year-old female student at a local school had received sexually explicit photographs from an unnamed 18-year-old male from Shokan.

The investigation revealed that the defendant also asked for nude photographs of the victim, and invited the victim to engage in sexual contact with him.

The defendant was charged with 1st-degree disseminating indecent material to a minor, a class D felony, 2nd-degree coercion, and endangering the welfare of a minor, misdemeanors.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail, to reappear in the Town of Esopus Court at a later date.

The defendant’s name is being withheld due to eligibility for youthful offender status.
