2019 Rockefeller Christmas Tree from Hudson Valley

The tree is set to go up on Saturday, Nov. 9.

You know it just about full blown Holiday Season when the folks at Rockefeller Center make the big announcement as to when their Christmas tree is going up and the date is set for 11/9, according to their Facebook page.

What makes this year's announcement even sweeter is that the tree is coming straight out of the Hudson Valley and should do us proud in the heart of New York City.

This year's tree is a beautiful Norway spruce that has spent its time growing in the small Orange County Village of Florida, New York. The tree will be raised at Rockefeller Centers plaza on Saturday 11/9.

The 87th lighting of the Rockefeller Center Tree will take place later in November and be on display for the whole month of December and the first week or so of January 2020 in New York City.

This isn't the first time the special tree has come from the Hudson Valley, as in 2018 another Norway spruce was raised at the plaza from Wallkill in Orange County, New York. The 2018 tree was 72 feet tall and weighed in at an estimated 12 tons, according to the Today Show.

Once the tree is taken down, it will be donated to Habitat for Humanity, as has been the tradition with the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree since 2007.
