A Day to Remember Get Fed Up on Heavy ‘Resentment’ Song
"I've got this chip on my shoulder," begins the growling bridge in A Day to Remember's "Resentment." It comes just a few seconds before a pummeling breakdown emerges, and the redemptive chorus again takes hold. The song is the latest single from the band's upcoming You're Welcome album.
But although that effort recently got pushed back until next year, the new tune released Friday (Nov. 22) still puts listeners' feet to the fire where the evolving A Day to Remember sound is concerned. Earlier this year, lead single "Degenerates" showed the catchy side of the outfit's milieu. This time around, it sounds like the group has a more substantial burden to prove. Listen to "Resentment" down toward the bottom of this post.
Who knows which part of the band's personality will ultimately take hold of the group's forthcoming seventh album? After all, lead singer Jeremy McKinnon recently said the collection "feels like the happiest record that we've written in a minute" and is "the happiest record we wrote to date."
As of Friday, the band has two concerts remaining on their current U.S. "Degenerates Tour" with fellow rockers I Prevail and Beartooth. All three acts perform Nov. 22 at Nashville Municipal Auditorium and Nov. 23 at Fayetteville, North Carolina's Crown Complex.
