A Hudson Valley Grad Helped Bruno Mars Win A Grammy

In case you missed the Grammys this past weekend, Bruno Mars won a bunch of awards. He won, like, six of them. Do you know how many Grammys I've won? It's less than six. There's a clear bias against non-musicians at the Grammys, and I'm not going to stand for it anymore.

But Bruno Mars didn't do it alone; in fact, he had somebody from the Hudson Valley helping him out. Ray Romulus, a graduate from Washingtonville High who also spent a year at SUNY New Paltz, was standing on the Grammy stage behind Mars as he accepted the award for Song Of The Year, which he received for "That's What I Like."

Romulus and his group The Stereotypes acted as producers on the song, which is featured on Bruno Mars' 24K Magic, which won Album and Record of the Year at the Grammys as well.

This was the first time the Grammys had been held in New York in fifteen years, which made the event special for Romulus. He's based in Los Angeles now, but New York hasn't left him.
