Baby Shark Live Show in Poughkeepsie Cancelled Due to COVID
A lot of kids and parents are bummed to find out they can't see the popular song performed live in Poughkeepsie, New York this weekend. Everyone else with ears is probably just fine with the news.
A few years ago we couldn't escape the 'Baby Shark' phenomenon. It has gained a lot of popularity in recent years but for many people the song is old news. The popular children's song has unbelievably been around since 2016. I had no idea it was that old. Did you? I guess every couple of years the song comes back and rises in popularity once again.
How popular is the 'Baby Shark Dance' video on YouTube? Over the past 6 years t has gathered over 10 billion views on YouTube. Yes, you read that right. It has been viewed over 10 billion times. Not only does that mean it's one of the most popular nursery rhymes but that also means that it is the most viewed video on YouTube.
Many Hudson Valley parents were looking forward to taking their kids to sing and dance to the song live at the Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center this Friday but some sad news was announced today. The performance was originally scheduled for this Friday at 6:00 PM.
According to the Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center's website, the show has been cancelled due COVID-19 concerns. All tickets that were purchased will be refunded. Al we can do is hope that this won't be a common trend that we start to see again.
