I may have accidentally stumbled across one of the best products in Hudson Valley history. That's especially high praise considering I've never even used it before, but the story I just discovered is enough for me to want to buy some for everyone I know.

A company can advertise as much as they want, but customer reviews are the true measure of a product. I'll take word-of-mouth over a fancy jingle any day of the week, and a former Hudson Valley resident's cross-country search for a product she "swears by" has me convinced.

Winter months can be brutal in New York. Not only do we have to deal with the cold, but our skin becomes cracked and dry, adding insult to injury while we try and wait out sub-zero conditions. One woman says she found a life-changing solution.

The Search for the Hudson Valley, NY's Favorite Lotion

"Posting this in hopes the right person may see it!" wrote Melissa G., a former Hudson Valley, NY resident on Facebook. She went on to describe not only the love she had for a product she had purchased at the Beacon Farmer's Market, but her distress at not being able to give the right people the credit they deserve:

I purchased [an] amazing jar of lotion/balm at the farmers market... I moved cross country shortly after, and much to my dismay have lost the card with the name of the lady that makes it, and her website! I swear by this stuff, and sing its praises to anyone who I talk to about it! Can anyone help me out??

"Yes I just bought the same cream this past summer... I think her company is Wild Roots" came the first answer. "It’s Wild Roots I have the same lotion", said another. Not only did the community come to her aid, but every single comment echoed her sentiments: this was the best lotion they had ever come across.

Is the Best Lotion in the Hudson Valley, NY from Wild Roots Farm?

"Thank you everyone!!! I am currently 8 months pregnant, with no stretch marks, and I 100% attribute that to this stuff!!", shared Melissa. "It truly is the best, not only in the Hudson Valley, but across the country". So what's so special about Wild Roots?

About Wild Roots Farm in Germantown, NY

Wild Roots Farm, located in Germantown, NY, keeps dairy goats, chickens, and "several gardens growing a rainbow of organic vegetables and flowers". In addition to their lotion (called "body butter" on their website), they sell goat milk soap, lip balms, sea salt scrubs, and more. Many of their products, including the soap and body butter are also made with "sacred sounds":

Each batch is infused with the healing vibration of a specific mantra/sacred sound... Each track is orchestrated in accordance with the natural and healing laws of the universe, developed under the most positive phases of the Moon under the influence of the beneficial planetary energies, which opens unimaginable gates of healing

Is it the natural ingredients? The sacred sound infusion? Whatever the answer, Wild Roots (who I must stress has not paid me to write this article) has won themselves an eager customer. I'm not pregnant, but if sound-infused body butters can get my cracked hands safely through the winter, I'll be a true believer.
