Construction at Chadwick Lake Park in the Town of Newburgh continues, but residents will no longer have to guess at what the new community center might look like.
Huge strides have been made since breaking ground on the multi-million dollar project, and with walls and a roof taking shape, we also have received an estimated date of completion for the impressive building.
Construction at Chadwick Lake in Newburgh, NY
It was announced back in June of 2024 that construction would start early on a project that is meant to bring more resources to the community park. Originally slated to begin in September, work began early to avoid potential construction pauses due to frozen ground during colder months.
Rapid Progress for Chadwick Lake Community Center
The plan seemed to have worked, as crews were active throughout the winter. With Spring right around the corner, James Presutti, the Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Conservation for the Town of Newburgh recently shared an update on the building's timeline.
Completion Date for Chadwick Lake Community Center
Though no specific target date has been announced, Mr. Presutti shared that the building's construction should be completed by the Fall. Despite the structure not being completed for summer camp season, the estimation lines up perfectly for when residents may be looking for more indoor activities, which the community center should provide.

The structure, which was built on the footprint of the former outdoor hockey rink and fitness area at Chadwick Lake, will be the latest addition to one of Orange County's favorite parks. Check out more Hudson Valley park destinations below.
