Hudson Valley–Filmed Fox Comedy Sets Premiere Date and Drops First Trailer

New Fox Show Announce Filming in The Hudson Valley

In May of 2025 news broke that a new show would use the Hudson Valley as their main stage for a Fox production.

At the time we learned the show was an hour long medical comedy called Best Medicine starring Josh Charles (The Goodwife, Handmaids Tale). The show would be based of the UK series Doc Martin.

The show will follow Charles character, Doctor Martin, whose  "blunt and borderline rude bedside manner" ends up rubbing locals the wrong way.

While the show is filmed in the Hudson Valley the town in Best Medicine is a "quaint East Coast fishing village."

Will they end up using a Hudson Valley town as inspiration, I guess we'll have to wait and see. But how long will we have to wait?

While production seems to be continuing here in the Hudson Valley, Fox has released the first trailer for the show.

If you've driven across Dutchess County near New Hamburg train station you may have seen signs for filming.

Sources tell us Best Medicine has filmed parts of the show near the New Hamburg Yacht Club, which you can see in parts of the trailer.

Best Medicine also films at the Choice Stages Management, located in Newburgh.

Along with the trailer we also learn that Best Medicine will premier in January 2026. We don't have an exact date yet, but once we do we'll make sure to update you.

The Hudson Valley Continues To Build Their Production Credit

Over the last few years, the Hudson Valley has racked up some big filming credits.

I Know This Much is True (HBO), Pretty Little Liars Original Sin (HBO Max), Life & Beth (Hulu), Severance (Apple TV), The Gilded Age (HBO), The White House Plumbers (HBO), Poker Face (Peacock) and many others have all filmed in and around the region.

Most recently, along with Best Medicine, The Four Seasons (Season 2) has filmed across the Valley.

Netflix has been spotted in Fishkill and Newburgh over the last few weeks and the crew used Newburgh Brewing Company as space to hang out during the shoot.
