New Toy Shop Brings ‘Play’ to Village of Wappingers

The Village of Wappinger has experienced a great deal of change, with many new business additions over the past several years, and now locals and visitors to the area alike will have a new shop to check out.

Deanna Ronsheim has always loved working with children and the community, and has been sharing her creative talents to the Village of Wappingers through family-friendly workshops and classes for some time. Recently, though, the opportunity to open up her own shop in the Village of Wappingers came up, and a toy store seemed to be the perfect fit...

Close your eyes, and imagine the feeling you had when you walked into a small toy shop as a kid. It was exciting, fun and a bit like a dream come true. But First, We Play! envelops that nostalgic feeling that only a small toy shop can provide. Each item is carefully curated and merchandised with the child in mind.

That nostalgic, small toy shop is exactly what Ronsheim was going for when envisioning her toy shop, But First, We Play!, which officially opened for business Wednesday, November 20th, with Grand Opening Festivities on November 23rd and 24th.

The shop is located at 2695 W Main St in the heart of the Village of Wappingers, and they'll be providing updates and information about upcoming events @butfirstweplaytoys on Instagram, and via their website. The shop will have something for kids of all ages, from baby right up to teens and big kids, too.

Not far down the road from But First, We Play! a candy shop is another one of the most recent additions to East Main Street in Wappingers; bringing nostalgic treats, current favorites, and a whole lot of color to the village. When was the last time you had one of these goodies?
