Celebrate National Kombucha Day at These Local Spots
Today, January 15th marks National Kombucha Day! Kombucha has grown so much over the past couple of years. I first learned about this sparkling drink when I visited Colorado and went to a local brewery that also had a kombucha bar. Fast forward to seeing kombucha in also every grocery store to now buying it locally.
I love attending fairs and festivals during the summer and making purchases from local vendors. Last summer, I came across a company who was selling homemade kombucha and it was delicious. Some folks claim that this drink is too bitter or tarte or even tastes like vinegar but I love it.
You may have come across teas that have kombucha in them as well.
Kombucha is filled with probiotics in which it contains live yeast and bacteria which benefit your digestive tract and system. This drink is usually made with tea and sugar as well.
Kombucha has been around long before we got here. During 220 B.C Kombucha started in China and was introduced in Japan during 414 A.D. This bubbling, probiotic drink ended up eastern European countries. Fast forward to the 1950’s, kombucha could then be found in Germany, Italy, France and North Africa.
