A popular social media-based comedian, who has a show set for the Hudson Valley, is apologizing after sexual misconduct allegations.

If you're familiar with Instagram and Youtube, you have probably come across John Crist. Crist is a comedian and the brains behind skits such as  "Every Nashville Bachelorette" and "Every Parent at Disney."

Crist is also a Christian and makes that a big part of his content and stand up act.

People Magazine is reporting that Crist is apologizing after a story by Charisma News was released on Wednesday that accused Crist of sexual misconduct with 6 different women.

The comedian admitted in his apology that he has been struggling with sex addiction in the past and has sought out help for his addiction.  Additionally, Crist said in the statement he will be canceling the rest of his 2019 tour stops as well as postponing "all future commitments in order to devote all my time and energy on getting healthy spiritually, mentally and physically.”

John Crist was set to perform at MJN - Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center in Poughkeepsie on April 24th, 2020.

We've reached out to the MJN Convention Center for a comment and they said:

In an effort to focus on his health, John Crist has made the decision to postpone his 2020 tour dates. All current ticket buyers will be notified, if a rescheduled date is set. Given the unknowns about rescheduling, ticket refunds will be credited to your account.
