The first Thursday in August marks National IPA Day, as if we needed a reason to sit back, relax, and crack open a cold one, right?  Dating back to 2011, today is a day we celebrate one of the world's most popular beers!

According to Forbes, IPA, or India Pale Ale

was developed to sustain the long trips British soldiers made in sailing to India, and the larger amount of hops helped them withstand the higher temps in traveling. But now, these hoppy beers boast flavors from bubble gum to tandoori spice

Personally, i'm not a HUGE beer person, but when I do reach for one, IPAs are my thing. Lately i've been really into these really funky flavors, and lucky for me the Hudson Valley has come through with plenty of options.

We say it all the time, but it is totally worth mentioning again --- how lucky are we to live in an area that is jam packed with all sorts of amazing craft breweries? Well, because we care, we never want you to be in the dark when it comes to local beer options, so here's just a few reminders of some Hudson Valley spots for quenching your beer thirst, IPA day or not!  For more info about options in our HV backyard, check out our website or mobile app!  Cheers!

Where do you head in the Hudson Valley for your favorite IPA?
