The Dutchess County SPCA dog path is home to a brand new sheltered bench for dog walkers and their pups alike, all thanks to an Eagle Scout project.

In a statement they posted on facebook:

Everyone at the DCSPCA would like to thank EJ Hayes III of Boy Scout Troop 3042 in Red Hook for building this beautiful sheltered bench for our dog walkers and dogs for his Eagle Scout Project.

As you can see, the dog walk area extends quite a distance from the main building. Dogs are walked no matter what the weather and in extreme situations this outbuilding oasis provides a break from the elements. It is located at about the halfway point in the dog path.

The shed itself is decorated with little bone, cat and dog cutouts and was made possible with help from Williams Lumber of Rhinebeck and Black Dog Homes LLC.  Take a look at the incredible work EJ put into this great resource for the shelter and animals that live there - nice job EJ!
