Westchester Police Officer Charged With Larceny After On-Duty Incident Involving Stolen $15K
A Westchester County Police Officer, who resides in Putnam County has been arrested and charged for an incident that took place over the summer. It was alleged that the Officer, who was on duty at the time of the crime, stole more than $15,000 in cash.

On-Duty Elmsford Police Officer Charged With Larceny
A 44-year old resident of Mahopac, in Putnam County, was arrested and charged this week for Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, which is a felony, along with the misdemeanor of Official Misconduct. The charges resulted from an incident that took place over the summer.
Douglas Ramirez, formerly a member of the Elmsford Police Department, was on duty on July 27, 2023, at approximately 3pm, when it was alleged that he accepted a 'sealed package turned in to the front desk of the Elmsford Police Department.
It was reported that as the on-duty officer, Ramirez opened the sealed package and 'discovering the contents' stole the $15,500 inside.
Following the July incident, Ramirez arrested by the Westchester District Attorney's Office on August 29th, and placed on administrative leave by the Elmsford Police Department.
Elmsford Officer Arraigned on Felony and Misdemeanor Charges
In an official report from the Westchester District Attorney's Office, it was revealed that Ramirez was arraigned on Wednesday September 26, 2023 before Judge Jay S. Beilat, where he was charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Official Misconduct. His next court date is set for Wednesday October 25th.
Reports indicate that Public Integrity and Law Enforcement Integrity Deputy Bureau Chief Jennifer Sculco is investigating the case along with Assistant District Attorney Renee Hassel.
