A gas main break off of 17K near Corporate Boulevard in the Town of Newburgh is causing issues in traffic. The road is closed and traffic is being diverted. The Town of Newburgh Police asks that commuters please avoid the area as traffic is backed up in both directions.

According to the alert, authorities say that the severity is minor. There is minimal to no known threat to life or property.

The urgency; however, is immediate, for responsive actions are being taken care of immediately.
