There's a way to adopt the pups that failed TSA and other government training for being too nice.

I'm a dog person to my core, and ALL dogs are good boys and girls. It's just a fact. But some pups are too good. As if that's even a thing. According to Insider, there are dogs that fail government training, like TSA and drug-sniffing dogs.

Insider reports that the dogs can fail to graduate their training for various reasons. Some of them include not having the drive, the wrong temperament, nervousness, and the wrong personality. One of the 'poor temperaments' includes being too nice. So you're probably wondering: what happens to them?

The TSA offers an adoption program for the dogs that failed their training program. According to Insider, most of the pups are bigger dogs like German Shepards, German Shorthaired Pointers, Labrador retrievers, and Belgian Malinois. You can find out more information about the TSA adoption program here.

If you're serious about adopting one of these dogs, here are the home requirements listed by the TSA adoption program's website:

  • You must have a fenced in yard at the time of applying.
  • There should be no intentions of moving within six months of adopting a dog.
  • Homes must abide by all local pet ordinances.
  • You must agree to provide the dog with appropriate medical care, exercise, training and companionship.
  • All existing pets in the home must have current vaccinations and preventive care.
  • The age of children in the home will be taken into consideration when selecting a dog.
