The Hudson Valley will soon be a world class gambling destination with the opening of Resort World Castkills in early 2018. The massive project is expected to open on time and is the last of the four approved casinos for New York state.

The Times Union reports New York state's acting gaming commission head, Ron Ochyrm, says it will be ready to open in March. Construction has mainly been completed on the structure and now it's all about building out the gaming floors and additional decorations.

A recent report by the Associated Press has taken a look at unmet expectations for New York's three existing casinos. For example, Rivers Casino in Schenectedy pulled in $101 million over the first nine months of the year compared to a projection of around $180 million.

Do you think the Sullivan County casino will be a success? Being much closer to New York city than the other three, there is hope there will be increased demand. Do you plan on checking it out when it opens in March?
