Hudson Valley Landmark Reopening Receives National Coverage
Saturday's re-opening of the Tower of Victory made national headlines after the landmark just finished receiving three years worth of rehab work. The tower was built in the 1800s to commemorate the end of the Revolutionary War but storm damage in the 1950s led to structural damage and closure.
ABC News ran a story highlighting the history and $1.6 million in renovations, work was done to fix the roof and secure the structure. According to their report, more work needs to be done but they're ready for visitors.
George Washington spent the last 16 months of the Revolutionary War stationed at the property. Have you ever heard of the Newburgh Conspiracy? Events that happened in the Hudson Valley played a significant role in the early formation of the United States.
