A Hudson Valley man was fatally shot while two others were shot around the same time near Dunkin'.

On Saturday, City of Newburgh police received a shot spotter notification for South Robinson Avenue near the 9W Dunkin'. Upon arrival, officers located a large crowd fighting in the parking lot, police say.

While handling the fight, the police department received another shot spotter notification for a shooting on South Clark Street, less than a half-mile from the South Robinson Avenue shooting.

In the area of Bridge Street and Carson Avenue, officers found Cherod Gayle, 20, of Newburgh with a gunshot wound. He was taken to St. Luke’s hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

While on both scenes, the police department received a call about two men who arrived at St. Luke’s hospital with gunshot wounds. According to police, Anthony Burden and Dejon Jones, both 28, were both shot on South Robinson Avenue. The nature of their injuries was't released.

It's unclear if the shootings are related. The shootings are currently being investigated by the City of Newburgh Police Department, New York State Police Major Crimes and the Orange County District Attorney’s office.
