With Hudson Valley Wing Wars approaching this Saturday night (1/28/17). I was sharing some info on the where and when with a friend, when they started laughing. I was eager to get in on the secret. After they stopped laughing, they explained to me that when they heard 'Wing Wars' competition and chicken wings, they thought that it was going to be a wrestling event.

Recently, I started going to Urban Dictionary, when everyone around me seemed to understand something that I didn't, so this is the first place that I went to when I became aware of the fact that chicken wing meant to me, those little taste treats that come off a chicken, that are cooked and then covered in a hundred different sauces.

Here is what Urban Dictionary taught me about chicken wings:

  • (v) An offensive/defensive move performed by bending ones arm and using the forearm to connect across the face or neck of an individual for the purpose of incapacitation. This move is normally used when to close to throw a punch.

  • a wrestling move that involves pulling someones arm behind their back so that it looks like a chicken wing

  • A girl that has more bones on her than meat. Like you can actually see her ribs and hip bone.

  • The female version of a Wing Man.

Yes, there were even more definitions for 'chicken wings' than the one listed below, I only included the above, because I was pretty certain they would not offend too many people.

If you want to be apart of what I think is a chicken wing, those tasty cooked morsels of deliciousness join us at Hudson Valley Wing Wars (a non-wrestling event) at Motorcyclepedia in Newburgh on Saturday January 28, 2017, from 5PM to 9PM. Included in your ticket price is 15 chicken wing samples and your right to vote in the Best Chicken Wing of the Hudson Valley Competition.
