A woman said something to me at the mall the other day that would make most people scratch their heads.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas here in the Hudson Valley. The holiday season is upon us and those colder temperatures are finally getting here. It may start to be feeling like Christmas out there but is has looked like Christmas in the Hudson Valley region for almost two weeks now.

Some people wasted no time in sorting to decorate for the holly jolly holiday. People started to decorate the day after Halloween.

I love Christmas but that's just too soon I'm sorry. My stance on when it is okay to start celebrating for Christmas is very clear. I think the the appropriate day is Black Friday but I would accept November 15.

I was at the Poughkeepsie Galleria this past weekend and someone said something so bizarre to me that I was caught completely off guard. I couldn't believe and I'm sure a lot of people would have had a similar reaction.

I opened the door for a young woman. We had a brief chat and then she said the unthinkable.

"Thank you and Merry Christmas.", she said to me.

What? It was the second week of November? Hanging decorations is one thing but wishing someone a Merry Christmas? Despite how nice the sentiment was this just seems like it has gone too far. Am I crazy?
