It's been a busy week for an Orange County, NY fire department who recently reported an increase in vehicle crash responses in their area.
While there could be multiple causes for the increase in accidents (an Ulster County road was just shut down for the season due to its danger during winter months), the Cronomer Valley Fire Department in the Town of Newburgh, NY used the opportunity to remind drivers to "remain cautious" on local routes.
Multiple Emergency Responses for Cronomer Valley Fire Department
"Thursday the 13th was very busy for Cronomer Valley", began a recent post from the volunteer fire department. Photos showed that the emergencies went far beyond simple fender-benders.
Cronomer Fire Department Reports "Increase" of Vehicle Accidents
"We’ve experienced an increase in motor vehicle accidents recently, so we’d like to remind drivers to remain cautious and vigilant when driving on the road!", the CFD continued (below). "And we’re always looking for new members, if you’d like to help us out on scenes like this stop by and grab an application!"
Cronomer Valley Fire Department Assists in Wallkill, NY Livestock Fire
Recently, the Cronomer Valley Fire Department assisted multiple other agencies in responding to a massive fire in Wallkill, NY that was visible from the New York State Thruway (below). The blaze destroyed several structures and killed roughly 30 animals, although many others - including several dogs - were saved.
From vehicle crashes and fires to rescuing animals, Hudson Valley firefighters never know what their day will have in store. Check out exactly what happened when Newburgh firefighters responded to a call about a dog stuck on the frozen Hudson River below.
