Everyone enjoys a wedding but sometimes the favors can be an afterthought. I will say since my first wedding in 1991 wedding favors have gotten a lot more creative and fun. My first wedding had a Western theme so my favors at people's place settings were mini cacti in terracotta pots that my bridle party and I hand painted. Yes, they still talk to me.

These days the gifts for out-of-town guests and favors that they can take on the way out have stepped up a notch. It got me thinking what would I do for a wedding favor if I wanted my handouts to be unmistakably from the Hudson Valley? Here are five ideas I had that I think say HudosnValley Wedding for sure.

Hudson Valley Wedding Favor Ideas that Say My Wedding Was in the Hudson Valley

1 - A bottle of wine from a Hudson Valley Winery - I would go with the Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville, New York because I love the Pinot Noir.

2 - You can't go wrong with a box of chocolate from Samuel's Sweet Shop in Rhinebeck, New York. They have sweetened the Hudson Valley for 30 years.

3 - A gift from Woodstock New York would be perfect and why not from a store that has illuminated the Hudson Valley since 1969 Candlestock.

4 - This next one I would probably have the caterer use in the food but then make sure everyone got a jar to take home. Al's Smokin' BBQ Sauce is the best the cranberry is my favorite.

5 - Rounding out the top five choices for me would be to get everyone a ticket to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. If you can afford a show great but if not the Museum is a cool day trip.

Unbelievable Way to Save a Wedding Dress

So many of us save our wedding dress for some future use but this is the first time I ever saw one put in a curio cabinet. Having your wedding dress on display is a way to go maybe for the first year?

However, I am going to guess this is a permanent display probably in a bedroom or walk-in closet. Dresses do cost a lot of money they might be worth more than anything else you would stick in a curio to display.
