
Deadly Hit And Run Accident on New York State Thruway
A 26-year-old woman has tragically died after initially surviving a car crash, only to be struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on the New York State Thruway in Catskill, New York.
Woman Killed After Alleged Hit and Run Accident on New York Thruway
According to the New York State Police (NYSP), Troopers were called to respond to a report of a one-car motor vehicle collision early Wednesday morning December 11th by Exit 21 in the town of Catskill, NY on the New York State Thruway (Interstate 87).
Car Bursts Into Flames on NYS Thruway
Upon arrival at approximately 3:58 a.m., the NYSP quickly began its investigation to try and piece together what happened with the preliminary investigation revealing that a 2014 Subaru was traveling southbound on the thruway when for unknown reasons the vehicle left the roadway and subsequently struck the median.

Soon after the car struck the median police said it became engulfed in flames with the driver, identified as 26-year-old Sara Llorens, of Burlington, Vermont being able to exit the vehicle before the fire consumed the car.
Hit and Run After Car Crash
Further investigation at the scene revealed that after Llorens escaped her vehicle she was allegedly struck and killed by an unknown vehicle driving in the northbound lane where she was found deceased by first responders.
This is an active hit-and-run investigation and the NYSP is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or anyone who might have any information that might help find who is responsible to please contact the State Police at Catskill at 518-622-8600.
