Criminal Minds Actor Celebrates Friday the 13th in the Hudson Valley
Fans of the criminal drama Criminal Minds will tell you that Dr. Spencer Reid is one of the best television characters of all time. Smart, charming, and a little awkward made Reid a CBS fan favorite.
Spencer Reid of course is played by actor Matthew Gray Gubler, who is no stranger to the Hudson Valley, more on that in a little bit. Gubler was seen celebrating Friday the 13th at Kevin McCurdy's Haunted Mansion in Wappingers Falls, New York.
We hear about celebrity sightings in the Hudson Valley all the time. Usually, it's a selfie with a fan or an encounter at a local restaurant, but this one was a little different.
Matthew Gray Gubler Congratulations Scare Actors at Wappingers Falls Haunt
Kevin McCurdy shared that Gray Gubler stayed around after his Haunted Mansion experience to speak with the cast. McCurdy wrote on the Haunted Mansions social media accounts:
He stayed until the cast came out of their parts for the night, and congratulated each and every person! He told them all what a wonderful job they did. Whether they were a monster, screamer, actor, or chainsaw chaser, his sincerity, as he complimented the cast and staff, was so heartfelt. I thought about the smiles on the faces of our cast all night. So I guess the lesson here is sometimes all it takes is a little compliment to make even a monster smile.
McCurdy goes on to thank Gubler for stopping by and being so kind to the actors who are giving it their all this season and adds "I guess Friday the 13th was extremely lucky for us this year."
Matthew Gray Gubler Loves the Hudson Valley
Gubler seems to be a big fan of haunted attractions as last year the actor was spotted across the river at the Headless Horseman in Ulster Park. He was also seen walking around and dining in the Saugerties area.

Wolf listener Andrew texted in and shared that Gubler is no stranger to the area as he ran into him in "German Town for October fest about 2 or 3 years ago my wife and I met him and he was a really cool dude!!! Kind receptive to his fans and willing to take pictures and just was an awesome dude about it! Made my wife's night!!"
