Meet City of Peekskill Police Department K9 Charlie
Earlier this week, The City of Peekskill Police Department shared a post on Facebook about the passing of K9 Charlie.
Charlie, according to the post, was" the first active duty K9 Peekskill has seen in over two decades." When the K9 Unit was redeployed in 2017 Charlie jumped into action with an "amazing and well-respected start" thanks to his sharp multidisciplinary skills.
Since 2017 Charlie has been teamed up with Officer Nappi creating an unstoppable team that lead to several successful operations. K9 Charlie contributed so much to the City of Peekskill Police Department going above and beyond in the field. In a statement from the City of Peekskill Police Department, they write:
K9 Charlie's impact went beyond cases solved; his presence ensured the safety of PO Nappi and all of our fellow officers. The work that this team did allowed for the closing of cases that would otherwise have remained unsolved or been unable to prosecute due to missing key evidence.
