I love summer in the Hudson Valley! There’s so many fun activities for us to take part in right in our area. Local hiking trails, parks and beaches within the Hudson Valley are convenient for us.

Some New York state parks and beaches are only open for half of the year. Thankfully, social media allows us to not only stay connected but learn about things we are interested in online.

A recent announcement was made on Facebook that shared exciting news about how we can now visit one of my favorite parks and beaches within the Hudson Valley!

Which Sullivan County, NY State Park And Beach Has Opened For The Season?

Sullivan County, NY Government made a post on social media that announced the officially opening of park and beach. They included,

“Beat the heat at Lake Superior State Park on Dr. Duggan Road in Bethel, now open daily with a lifeguarded, sandy beach!”

Guests are now able to visit Lake Superior State Park in Bethel, NY everyday. From Monday to Thursday, they’re open from 10am until 6pm. From Friday to Sunday, they’re open from 9am until 7pm.

Those who are interested in their season passes can purchase them for only $15.

The New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation shared helpful information about Lake Superior State Park in Bethel, NY.

They included that Lake Superior State Park has over 1,400 acres of land within Sullivan County, NY. Not only is Lake Superior located on these grounds but it also features Chestnut Ridge as well.

There’s also two parts of Lake Superior Park. The beach area is open seasonally and has a swimming section with a beach, picnic spaces, boating options and more.

In addition to the beach area, the dam area is also available on site. This has more picnic areas, pavilions, hiking trails and more.

Although there isn't camping options available at Lake Superiour Park, the grounds of the park are open daily and year round.

If you feel like bringing your furry friend, just know that pets are not allowed in the swimming areas, picnic locations and on the beach. Maybe leave your pup home in the air conditioning instead!

“Nice park, it's 5 dollars a person to enter from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It has a swimming area with lifeguards, a large grassy lawn, picnic tables and grills and a volleyball net."

 

"There is a small jungle gym for kids and a boat ramp to put small non motorized boats in the water. There's a lot of parking here as well. There are also restrooms which are clean, with showers and a drinking water fountain.”

 

“You can rent boats for 8 dollars an hour until 4 pm on weekdays and 5 pm on weekends during the summer season. They have one and two person kayaks, canoes, rowboats, and pedalboats. "
