Daycare Nightmare: Chaos After Wappingers Center’s Imminent Closure

A large number of local parents are currently scrambling to find childcare after a local center abruptly announced they would be closing their doors on February 29th.

The announcement came by surprise on February 20th, leaving parents wondering what they would do with their children once the popular Wappingers location shuttered for good in just nine days.

Wappingers Daycare Announces Closure, Local Parents Scramble For Childcare

Social media groups and local community apps have been full of frantic posts from parents who are scrambling to find childcare after J.A.C.E. Daycare and Early Learning Program in Wappingers announced their impending closure.

J.A.C.E. (Join A Creative Experience), which is located in the Imperial Shopping Plaza on Rt. 9 in Wappingers along with Home Depot and Planet Fitness, is a licensed and well known facility serving the area with infant, toddler, preschool, preK and even school age programs for children ages six weeks to ten years old.

Following the announcement of their plans to close effective February 29th, local parents began asking for suggestions, recommendations and reviews for places to bring their children, and especially places that offer extended hours, given that J.A.C.E. was one of the centers in the area that offered childcare from 6:30am until 6:30pm.

Just a few weeks ago, they posted a recap of their Summer 2023 program, teasing all the things in store for 2024...and now they're closing their doors.

Community Unites After J.A.C.E. Daycare Announces Closure

Based on the posts in the local family and parent focused Facebook groups, it appears that notification went out on Tuesday February 20th that J.A.C.E. would close at the end of the month. Various threads have been popping up with a call to the community to share information about hours, availability and openings.

Screenshots, links and enrollment information is being shared by this instant community that is made up of the families of children that will be displaced due to the J.A.C.E. closure, as parents are left scrambling with mere days to figure out how to make this all work.
