‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage Day Officially a Dutchess County Holiday
After a Hudson Valley radio personality sent a powerful letter to local officials we are happy to announce that there is now a new official holiday in Dutchess County, New York.
Earlier this month I discovered that "Macho Man" Randy Savage made his WWE television debut on July 6, 1985 in Poughkeepsie, New York at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center.

Upon this discovery I wrote a public letter to the Mayor of Poughkeepsie urging him to declare July 6 "Macho Man" Randy Savage Day in Poughkeepsie, New York. You can read my entire letter at this link. Read More: Letter to Poughkeepsie Mayor Demanding a "Macho Man" Day .
After a month of advocating for this special holiday we were not able to make this a holiday in Poughkeepsie. We went even bigger just like Savage would have wanted.
July 6 is officially "Macho Man" Randy Savage Day in Dutchess County New York
Dutchess County Legislator Will Truitt stopped by the studio to deliver some epic news for our crusade.
"It's not everday we're able to come together on a historic bipartisan agreement and this isn't just for Poughkeepsie this is Dutchess County as a whole and we want to recogize this." - Will Truitt
I'm happy to report that we made it official. Oh yeah!
We even have a copy of the declaration.
We still have a lot of work to do. We have a big day to plan for next year. My plan is to eventually take this to the state and then federal level. My hope is that one day my grandchildren will have "Macho Man" Randy Savage Day off.
