Metro-North to Reduce Service on Hudson Valley Train Lines
Metro-North announced they would be reducing service on multiple train lines in the Hudson Valley.
According to their website, Metro-North will begin reducing service on Friday, March 27, 2020, in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Metro-North Railroad and the Long Island Railroad will be operating reduced service. West of Hudson service os operating on a weekend schedule until further notice.
Yes, if you commute on the Hudson Line, which runs from Poughkeepsie to Grand Central Station, this affects you. Metro-North will be providing hourly service on the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven Lines. Extra trains will be added during peak times. Normal weekday capacity will be reduced by roughly 50%, compared to a normal weekday, according to their website.
