Feel like no matter how hard you try, you are still not saving anything for a "rainy" day or retirement? There is a new government-backed retirement savings program starts today, 11/4/15. It is called, MyRA and it is a free, low-risk financial account. It is specifically designed for lower- and middle-income Americans who don't have access to a 401(k) plan at work. Even if you have a 401(k) at work you still could be eligible to use this too.

Individuals earning less than 131-thousand dollars a year and couples who earn less than 193-thousand and file taxes jointly can take part. You will be able to have moneys direct deposited from your paycheck, bank account, or tax refund put into a MyRA. The account is similar to a Roth IRA but the money is invested only in a U.S. Treasury security created for the program. Investments are guaranteed never to fall in value.
