These Two HV New York Towns Referenced on Jeopardy
Just another day in the life of a Hudson Valley resident scrolling social media or getting calls and texts from excited friends and family members:
did you see what was on Jeopardy tonight?
Gotcha :) No, I don't think anyone got 'Rickrolled' last night.

Hudson Valley References on Jeopardy
If you were watching the Thursday January 30th Jeopardy episode, but mindlessly scrolling on your phone at the same time, you could have missed the Hudson Valley reference that was used in the 'Let's Put Two Things Together' category.
In a fashion that truly only makes sense for Jeopardy, the prompt read:
The state where you'll find Sleepy Hollow & New Paltz + shortened plural for a cloth used to blow the nose
What is....New York Hankeys? Correct!
While hearing New Paltz used on the popular game show was a big win for the Hudson Valley, pairing the town with a well known spot not too far south was probably helpful for those playing along at home who aren't familiar with our Ulster County gem that is New Paltz!

Not The First Hudson Valley Reference, Or Local Appearance On Jeopardy
Fans of the long-standing trivia show can tell you that there have been several Hudson Valley references over the years. In fact in November there was a Poughkeepsie related question on the show, referencing the Ivy League college that calls the city home.
Speaking of Ivy League colleges and smarts, we're well aware that we are living amongst so many smarty pants people here in the Hudson Valley, so it is not a surprise that some Hudson Valley residents have appeared on the show over the years.
Of course you likely remember when a New Paltz woman appeared on Wheel of Fortune last summer...right?
