Driving in New York has become a pretty big challenge for those who want to get to their destinations safely.

I'm not sure what's been going on with the driving in New York, but I think it's time to draw some serious attention to it. People around here can be aggressive, but this is taking it to a new level and the roadways seem a lot different these days compared to how they were years back.

I usually have an anti-honk policy while driving unless someone does something really crazy and since I've moved here I have been honking atleast once a week because of someone's bad driving. It doesn't seem like it's getting better anytime soon so I guess these are some things we need to just accept while driving around New York.

1) You're going to get the finger...

Maybe this a way people around here say hello? I've never seen people use it as much as in New York and hey if it makes you feel better to it do what you need to do. I prefer not to do this and to be mature when someone makes a mistake.

2) You're going to get honked at....alot:

Maybe this is another way of saying hello? People just love to lay on their horns here and hear the sound of it. How about we all try driving better so we don't need to do this? Just a thought.

3) People are going to tailgate you:

Maybe people like the thrill of driving that close to someone or they want to see what you're doing? Not exactly sure why this is popular. but you better get used to it driving around here. It must make people feel good for a few seconds and they can pretend their Vin Diesel.

4) People are going to cut you off:

I guess it's become every man for themselves around here on the roadways. Look out for people who need to get to their destination first.

5) People are going to park bad:

Maybe we all need to take another course on how to park? It seems like it's getting pretty bad in the parking lots these days. There seems to be a lot of confusion on what "good parking" and "bad parking" is.

I think we should all challenge each other to do better, be nicer, hold the finger and the horn while we are out on the roads. Until then, we just to manage and deal with all these crazy drivers and stay safe out there.

If There Were "New Yorker Games," What Would it Look Like?

In honor of St. Augustine, FL hosting their first "Florida Man Games," let's come up with some competitions that could be featured in New York's version, "The New Yorker Games."
