The New York Renaissance Faire held annually in Tuxedo New York will not take place this year as a result of the pandemic. 2020 was to mark the 43rd anniversary of the old world experience set in Sterling Forest. Visitors are given the opportunity to visit an authentic 16th century English Village complete with joust tournament, traditional fare, and even a chance to meet up with Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

This year's season was set to run from August 15 through October 4. The statement on their website reads:

Due to continuing health concerns and unrest affecting the entire country, REP has made the decision to not open the New York Renaissance Faire for the 2020 season. This is a serious and impactful decision for our small company and for those who participate in the Faire. We simply can't run the risk of exposing our audience, staff and participants to a virus which continues to spike around the country and specifically targets many of the individuals who work with the Faire in every capacity. We wish you the very best of luck in navigating these turbulent waters.

They close their announcement with a powerful reminder, 'Remember that after the plague comes the Renaissance!' For more information regarding ticket exchanges and refunds, head to their website. They will be back in 2021.
