NY Yogurt Takes Over US Schools
New York yogurt will now be available to school kids across the United States. America's public schools will be offering the a New York-based Greek yogurt as a meat substitute. Starting this falls school year, Chobani, will be the exclusive provider to the federal school lunch programs in all 50 states.
The FDA says that they chose Chobani after it led a successful pilot program earlier this year that began in Arizona, Idaho, Tennessee and New York. Turns out, the kids who were served the Greek yogurt, really liked it, causing the schools to triple their yogurt orders. Chobani says the Greek variety is nutrient-intense and uses hormone-free milk, making it an ideal food.
