A Walden library will serve as a drop of point for donations headed to help those who are struggling in Puerto Rico. According to a press release, the Friends of Josephine Louise Public Library will be presenting 'The Birds Of Puerto Rico' with Bill Fiero on Tuesday October 10th at 6:30 and will be collecting needed items. Items needed include:

  • Bottled Water
  • Canned Goods
  • Baby Supplies
  • Tarps
  • Blankets
  • Can openers (old school, not electric)
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • First aid kits
  • Flashlights
  • Batteries (non-lithium)
  • Candles

The Josephine Louise Public Library is located at 5 Scofield St. in Walden. For more information you can call (845) 778-7621.

The situation is dire on Puerto Rico, the September 16th hurricane wiped out nearly 90% of the infrastructure on the island after feeling the effects of Harvey and Irma too. If you can't make it to the library you can also donate to the American Red Cross.

If you know of any collection efforts in your town, feel free to post in the comments below.
