Popular New Paltz Bar Closes Its Doors (Again)
There was hope when they held their grand re-opening party last August, but now less than a year later Shea O'Brien's has closed its doors again for what is most likely the final time.
The bar and restaurant reopened with a new management team in place last August after originally closing in October of 2015. No official reason has been given to explain the closure. A source with knowledge of the situation stated the prohibitive cost of rent on the building made making ends meet difficult.
Former General Manager Garvan McCloskey has found success with his restaurant Garvan's which is on Hugenot Street in New Paltz.
I'll always look back on Shea O'Brien's with fond memories. They were the first bar in the Hudson Valley to give me a shot at hosting Pub Trivia. We had a great three year run there, can't thank them enough!
