More About The CCR Pilot Program

Back at the end of April, Governor Hochul announced the five NY counties that would be part of the CCR pilot as ' decisive action to strengthen public safety and protect survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.'

Aside from Putnam, Clinton, Yates, Columbia and Delaware counties will also participate in the two year program.

The program brings together law enforcement, courts, social services and advocacy groups in order to facilitate a unified approach to domestic violence. The overall purpose is to 'strengthen public safety, increase accountability for offenders, and enhance support services for survivors of gender-based violence.'

With regard to the local implementation, Putnam County DA Robert V. Tendy shared the following:

We will continue our collaborative fight to help survivors access support services more quickly while insuring harsh accountability for offenders. Our network of services will provide a more comprehensive response to Intimate Partner Violence. We will fight to eliminate violence from their lives and provide victims with the necessary resources to end the cycle of abuse. I am proud of our team's efforts to be named as one of only five counties for this Pilot Program. It's a great opportunity for our county—and now it's time to get to work.
