After 103 years of academia, The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York will be closing. The board of trustees voted on the afternoon of Thursday, November 30th to shut down the school following graduation of the 2023-2024 school year on May 11th, 2024. With many students about to be without a college, local New York colleges are offering seamless paths for College of Saint Rose students.

Mount Saint Mary College Offers Transfer Support and Will Accept Saint Rose Credits

In this message from Mount Saint Mary College, President Father Greg Fluet said,

Mount Saint Mary College is ready and willing to provide support to all College of Saint Rose students by making it as easy as possible to transfer all credits to the Mount though an expedited transfer process. Our Admissions team will be offering in-person, virtual, and phone meetings starting this Friday, December 8 to help these students see if the Mount is the right fit for them.

Saint Rose Neighbor, Russel Sage College, Offers Supportive Path for Displaced Students

Being a neighbor to the College of Saint Rose, Russel Sage College in Troy has a close connection with the Saint Rose community. Many Saint Rose students joined our community after Saint Rose discontinued several majors in 2020. They found a welcoming community at Russell Sage that nurtured them through the transition and on to earning their degrees. Russel Sage will accept all earned credits (C-minus or better). Upon transfer evaluation, they'll advise you of the remaining credits that you need to complete your degree. They also assure that tuition costs will not exceed Saint Rose's tuition costs.

Union College Offers Expedited Transfer Application to Saint Rose Students

Another close neighbor of Saint Rose in Schenectady, Union College officials said that Saint Rose students with a 3.0 GPA or higher will not have to pay any application fees to transfer to Union College. Union is also offering an expedited financial aid evaluation. Saint Rose students looking to attend union next fall have until June 30 to apply.
