
Here’s How HS Students Can Apply To 5 SUNYs For Free
For those that have navigated the college application process before, you know just how fast application fees can add up. Luckily though, SUNY, the State University of New York, will once again be offering their SUNY Free Application Week.

Which Schools Make Up The SUNY System?
The State University of New York, or SUNY for short, is made up of 64 institutions across New York State, and is known as the largest comprehensive university system in the US.
SUNY is home to 14 'University Centers' and Doctoral-Level Institutions (research-intensive schools, offer doctoral programs), 13 University Colleges (with a focus on undergraduate instruction in liberal arts and sciences), seven Colleges of Technology and 30 Community Colleges.
According to the SUNY website, they serve nearly 1.3 million students through their programs, and have a network of nearly 3 million SUNY alumni. You can learn more about the SUNY system, as well as the different types of schools and options here.

Save The Date: SUNY Free Application Weeks
Between October 20th and November 3rd, those students interested in applying to SUNY schools will have the opportunity to submit five applications at no cost. There is generally a $50 per application fee associated with each application, so this is an instant, and easy savings of $250.
Of the 64 SUNY campuses, applicants should know that there are certain ones that are NOT part of the free application period. According to SUNY.edu, the application fee waiver during SUNY Free Applications weeks do not include Cornell university (NYS College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, College of Human Ecology, College of Industrial & Labor Relations, College of Veterinary Medicine), Downstate Health Sciences University, Empire State University, Health Sciences Center at Stony Brook University, Nassau Community College, College of Optometry, Suffolk Community College and Westchester Community College.
