Summer. The time for barbecues, beach trips, bike rides…and college classes. That’s right! There’s no better way to start – or continue – your college career than by taking summer classes at SUNY Orange.

For newly minted high school graduates, summer courses are the perfect way to keep your academic momentum going. Whether you plan to attend SUNY Orange in the fall, or intend on going away to a four-year school, taking summer classes at SUNY Orange gives you the opportunity to gain valuable college credits that can be applied to your degree program at the college, or transferred to a baccalaureate program at another institution. Many students strategically plan their summer course attendance to reduce their fall semester schedule making their course load just a bit lighter during the regular school year. For students who perhaps struggled in a college course this past year, the summer is also a great time to retake that class and perhaps boost their grade point average a bit.

Summer classes also make great sense for adult students looking to pursue their goal of earning a college degree. For those that have been away from the classroom for a while, taking summer classes is the perfect way to “dip their toes” into academia before taking on a full – or part – time schedule in the fall. By taking a class or two in one of SUNY Orange’s two accelerated summer sessions, adult learners can get acclimated to college life.

Summer classes start on May 24.

SUNY Orange has more than 200 classes available this summer both online and on-campus. From art to science, English to Spanish, business to criminal justice, and so many more, check out their course listings at www.sunyorange.edu/schedules.
