If you haven't been to Bull and Barrel Brew Pub in Brewster yet, you're really missing out. But don't worry; now you can get their beer in bottles and on draft all over the Hudson Valley.

The explosion of the brewing scene of the Hudson Valley is no secret, especially if you've been following along here on WRRV. For the past 5 years, we've been doing everything we can to highlight the brewers in our area who are doing really creative and delicious things, innovative approaches to beer and how it pairs with food. So it's something of a surprise that this is the first time we've spoken to the folks at Bull and Barrel, because they're doing just that.

But not only are they developing excellent beer and great food, they're doing an incredible job of creating a fun, interesting, and unique atmosphere in which you can enjoy it. Their restaurant, on Route 22 in Brewster, right off of 84 and 684, not only has the distinction of being the first (and currently only) brewery in Putnam County, it also stands out as a completely immersive western-themed restaurant, complete with mechanical bull. The place has an awesome rustic, Americana vibe to it that they pull off absolutely perfectly. But you want to know about the beer, right?

Okay, fine. They've got a great lineup. I haven't had a single style there that I haven't enjoyed and you know me: I've tried all of them. At least all of the ones I was able to try at the time; they're constantly adding new beers to match dishes on the menu and to fit with the season. That's what they spoke to us about today, as their Country Bumpkin Rum Pumpkin Ale is not only available at the brewery, but also on draft and in bottles throughout the Hudson Valley.

Hear about their location, their beer, and what they've got planned below!
